Module Description: This module provides an overview of the educational science literature and how it can be applied to improve various forms of teaching and supervision. This module aims to maximize both educational effectiveness and efficiency. A stepwise curricular development model is described along with evidence-based suggestions for instructional methods and assessment tools. Seminal models helpful in guiding and evaluating teaching are introduced (e.g. Bloom’s Taxonomy, Miller’s Pyramid) along with resources for further learning. An SBIRT curricular example is used to illustrate these teaching processes and tools.
